Q 1.  Discuss different methods of educational psychology. Which method do you like the most and why?

A curriculum is a program of study that teaches students by means of a list of standards or general ideas. For example, a preschool classroom curriculum may include teaching colors, numbers, the alphabet and shapes. A teaching curriculum gives the teacher a way to assess what the student has learned. Student progress can be measured and the student can then advance up to a higher grade level. Including teachers in the curriculum making process is very beneficial. Teachers must make their own lesson plans as it is, so enlisting their help in designing the curriculum makes for some very educated minds at work. The end result is a school that has reached its maximum potential. The teacher’s role in the curriculum process is critical because she is responsible for implementing the curriculum in the classroom. Many districts will revise and update their curriculum every few years. Teachers often are invested in the writing and revision of the curriculum, performing the majority of the work. Schools evaluate their curricula to ensure they are continuing to meet students’ needs. The evaluation process encompasses several areas, including student understanding of main concepts, mastery of established academic goals and objectives, and standardized assessments. As the main source of information in each of these areas, educators are crucial in the evaluation process. Classroom teachers have first-hand knowledge of instructional methods and thus are the best-qualified to assess a curriculum’s effectiveness in utilizing the best learning strategies for student success.

Different methods of educational psychology The word “psychology” comes form the Greek word (Psyche mean Soul, Logos mean Science), thus the meaning of Psychology is the science of soul.

Education and Psychology Psychology is the science of behaviour, the activities of animate creature, which can be observed and measured in an objective way. Education in the narrow sense is the modification of behaviour of children in a controlled environment. To shape the behaviour of the subject and bring some positive or negative changes, it is necessary to study the science of behaviour. The developmental stages and characteristics of children are very essential factors from which the teacher must aware in order to be a successful teacher. If the teacher has no knowledge of children psychology, how can we expect from him that he would succeed in bringing about the desirable changes in children?

Definition of Educational Psychology; Educational psychology is the application of psychological findings in the field of education. Educational psychology is the systematic study of the development of the individual within the educational settings. It helps the teacher to understand the students and enhance their skills. Educational psychology is an applied discipline which combines the two different fields of education and psychology. It is the scientific study of human behaviour by which it can be understood, predicted and directed by education to achieve goals of life. Judd describes educational psychology as, “a scientific study of the life stages in the development of an individual from the time he is born until he becomes an adult.”
